What this walkthrough can and cannot do
There is no verified room-by-room route. The most complete public record is a 9 hour 49 minute no-commentary clear by Indie James, published on release day, with chapter markers in its description. This page turns those markers into a route index and adds the systems that explain why progress stops.
Use it to identify the next region, the gate in front of you and the kind of answer to look for. Do not use it as a room sequence. No published source identifies which door connects which zone, and the game is explicitly nonlinear.
Chapter route from a full clear
Times are positions in that video, not recommended splits. The first hours are slower than the timestamps suggest because they include exploration.

Passkeys and movement gates
The clear names four access tiers: Branch 1, Site, Prime and Supervision. These are community labels taken from the run, not an official glossary, and the pickup spots are not published. Treat them as keys to watch for rather than a checklist of rooms.
- Branch 1 and Site access appear together around the first major descent.
- Prime and Supervision access come later and sit behind the Undermoors search.
- The Conduit Gateway is the late transition toward Amari.
- Double jump and wings arrive later than most players expect; the store copy never names them.
- The clear's late chapters mention a pure orb, distinct from ordinary Protoplasm.
If a door refuses you, check whether the objective changed. The game often wants a different region rather than a key you missed.
How to find the next step without a map
Open the map with Tab on the Steam build and read the objective line at the bottom. It usually names the area or the person you are chasing. The map also shows an elevator or damage icon that may be off-screen.
- Read the objective line first.
- Pan the area map and look for an icon at the edge you have not visited.
- Scan the room's walls and floor before leaving a dead end.
- Test the obstacle: ordinary fire, then a charged shot, then missiles for armour.
- Only then backtrack to a previous region.
When progress stops
The developer's 27 October patch plan admits that some backtracking points look like softlocks and that one Underground Depths platforming section is too hard. That is an acknowledgement of presentation and difficulty, not proof that every blocked room is a bug.
- Scan the room you are in before travelling.
- Check for breakable blocks that blend into the wall.
- Shoot green or cyan eye barriers; they are not passkey doors.
- Use the depths exit route if you are in Underground Depths.
- The final dungeon has a developer workaround: let the boss defeat you and revive at the last pool. It conflicts with an Immortal no-death run.
Optional routes and collectibles
Blasters, boosters, Protoplasm Gists and scan percentage are completion tracks, not main-path requirements. The five completion achievements are Master of Blasters, Boosted!, The Gist of It, Servo Bot Ace and Perfected. Item totals are unpublished.
The late Ranaar search is part of the main route according to the clear's chapter markers. Side weapons and collectibles can wait; if a boss is blocking you, reassigning Protoplasm is faster than a collection sweep. See weapons and bosses.
Questions players ask
Is there a full room-by-room Moadra walkthrough?
No verified one has been published. The available full record is a chaptered video clear. This page gives the chapter route and gate logic instead of inventing room directions.
What are the passkeys in Moadra?
Community labels from a full clear name Branch 1, Site, Prime and Supervision access. Their pickup locations are not published, and the names are not an official glossary.
How long is the full game?
One no-commentary clear runs 9 hours 49 minutes. A reviewer estimate puts a normal run at 12 to 18 hours, and a completionist report suggests 15 to 16 hours for roughly 100 percent. See the playtime page for the source limits.
Can I get softlocked in Moadra?
The developer acknowledged that some backtracking points look like softlocks and planned clearer map and portal information. Reported blocked rooms usually have a scanner or destructible answer. A true unrecoverable state is not established by the sources reviewed.
